Life in the Bambi Room
The Bambi Room is the baby room at Puzzlez Playschool, our nursery on the High Street in Chipping Ongar. It is a thoughtfully designed space where babies and young toddlers can feel safe, settled and ready to explore, cared for by a dedicated team who get to know each child well.
Like every room at Puzzlez, the Bambi Room follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the framework that sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to 5 in England. Each day blends gentle routines with plenty of time to play, explore and rest.
What we focus on
Guided by the EYFS, these are the three areas that come first for babies in the Bambi Room.
Communication and language
Early communication grows through songs, stories, rhymes and lots of back-and-forth play.
Physical development
Age-appropriate activities support rolling, crawling, standing, sensory exploration and coordination.
Personal, social and emotional development
Secure attachments, confidence and trust are built through caring, nurturing routines with a familiar key person.
A key person for your baby
Every child at Puzzlez has a key person: a named member of staff who gets to know your baby, their routines and your family, and who is your main point of contact.
Settling in and everyday care
Our Sleep and Settling in procedures and our Nutrition and Mealtime policies set out how we care for babies through the day. Meals are freshly prepared on site, and we cater for allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences. Ask us for a copy of any policy, or talk to us about your baby’s routine.

From what age can my baby join?
The Bambi Room cares for babies and young toddlers from 6 months to 2 years.
What happens when my child turns 2?
Children move up to the Peter Pan Room, our toddler room for 2 to 3 year olds.
